MAN was detained at Barnet this morning in connection with the triple tragedy near Ashford, following a most exten. sive comb out by bloodhounds and numerous armed police in Barnet woods.

1 The search which was carried out with the aid of torchlights throughout the night was without result, but alter daybreak a policeman saw a man carrying a gun who mado off as the constable approached.

disarmament ngreement, the problems must be solved by the politicians engaged in the discus- sjons and not, by expert naval and military advisers, declared Mr. Arthur Henderson, he chairman of the Conference, addreasing n deputation from the International Disarmament Organisation to-day.
