SPANISH AIRMAN'S
MISHAP.
UNDERCARRIAGE STRUT BROKEN AT KAI TACK..
A mishap to the plane of Mr. Fernando Boiny Loring, "the Spanish aviator, who is flying from Madrid to Manila, occurred at Kai Tack aerodrome on Saturday maru ing, as a result of which the airman will have to delay his departure for Manila for several days.
It appears that Mr. Loring wis taxing across the aerodrome biface taking off for a test fight when one of the plane's wheela sank into a patch of boggy ground and strained the undercarriage of the machine. Had the airman attempt. ed to get the wheel clear. by the use of his engine the machine would have nosed over, so the ser vices of a car were requisitioned and a line was made fast to Д strut of the undercarriage. As apon as the straia was placed on the tow repe, however, the strut to which the rope was attached broke, and after being finally extricated the machine had to be taken back to the hangar for repairs.
In welcoming the General and the guests, Mr. J. H. Hunt, said:-It gives us grent, pleasure to welcome Your Excellency to our Club this afternoon, and I should also like to extend a hearty welcome to all are our
