of tho fardous train, The Olympian, over the Milwankee rail- road from Tacoma and Seattle to
Chieng. At that time the official j name of this line was The Chiengo, | Milwaukee and Puget Sound Rail-
WAY.
For several days prior to making the initial run, this new all-stoel train "
was opened for inspection. in Tacoma and Seattle and it mark- ed a great forward step for the West in luxurious transportation between the Pacific Northwest and the mid-West metropolis. The an- nouncements made of that journey atared that the name, "Olympian," was given to it because of the Olym pic Mountains which overlook, its Western termini And because it was "At for the gods in their migration from their ancient home in Greece to their modern one overlooking Puget Sound:"
This train," stated the invita tion issued for this event, "which would do credit to the combined creative powers of Jupiter, and his entire Court, is the world's latest triumph in transport combining, as it does, the strength and security of Vulcan's forging with the spoed of Mercury's winged heels and the luxurioumess of Juno's couch,”
Yet perfection has been added to perfection during the past twenty- one years and as the Olympian at- bains its majority this year it offers speed, comfort and luxury "far be yond the dreams of its originators. Now it rolls on roller bearings over the electrified way," 440 milen And of the rond through Idaho Montana having, been electrified in 1918 and 218 miles in Washington electrified in 1919.
