INTERPORT REGATTA AND CLOSING CRUISE

CANTON EMERGE WINNERS "IN

ROWING EVENTS.

YACHT CLUB ROW WELL BUT THIRD

TO MANILA.

The Interport Rogacto of 1982, in which the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club entertained Manila-for the first time since 1924-and- Canton, took place on. Saturday afternoon in glorious weather. The occasion was also that of the Closing Cruise of the season for local yachtsmen and yachtswomen, and the view from the Clubhouse dur. ing the afternoon, with the yachts whhaling round the mark-bubys and the rowing crows fighting out very sporting finishes, will long le remembered by all thom privéloged to witness it.

Canton emerged victors from the Regatta, with, Manila second and Hong Kong third, The water was a little choppy, and the caramen. in the lighter boats experienced soms difficulty in finishing their strokes. In this respect it in but fair to remark that both our visi tors are accustomed to river rowing, so that their wins do them great credit.

At the conclusion of the Regatta and Cruise, Lady Fæl, who with His Excellency Sir William was present throughout the afternoon, presented the prizes.
