UNSUSPECTED

CONSTIPATION

Nine out of ten of us-whether we know it or not-are martyrs to partial constipation. For It is a fact that an overloaded and neglected food canal will quickly and inevitably lead to a multitude of ills, the true cause of which we rarely recognise. The sole purpose of Eno's 'Fruit Salt is to check this evil-safely and harmlessly, Acting in the same way as those natural salts which should be—but are not- present in modern diet, Eno gets rid of all waste matter before it has time to stagnate and become poisonous. Take Eno first thing every morning.

THE TAFFETA JACKET

VIVID SHADES FOR RACING DAYS.

There are many styles in poate this season. It is not only a matter of "length," but of cut, fabrio, and colour, Regarding the latter, it

would seem that Fashion has sud- donly" forsakon her disarest sober tones, and plunged into an orgy of colour. The most vivid shades will

be seen in the popular thort taffeta couts, that are preted by our designors in a variety of ways, For the Races, if in brightest silk, the coat must be short. It

may flaunt and fare, or finish in a jaunty way above the waist, suggesting a sort of compromise between an Eton, a jacket, a zouave, or a "sad" Bub smartest of all is the old elegant- shapo, somewhat after the style of the late nineties, but with the silk slightly swathing the âgure, orbssing a litle bit to one side, then tying in a bow and ends of its own soft fabrio. Sometimes at the back the silk crosses at the waist, and forins long ends at the

She also has a trim coat and skirt, or per haps two. A short fur coat, a long 'coas trimmed with fur, and there may be last your's long fur coat as well.

The wardrobe so filled is, not a poor one, but when it comes to wearing these same things all through the winter, as adversity may demand, there must be some effort at change to avoid monotony." And change there is. Separate fur collars of different shapes-with cule-fur-trimmed gloves muff to match, provide several changes:

There should be many scarves and a little cape, ainco averyone is going to wear little capes on coat frocks in the spring.

There is the sling fur collar which slips over the head so easily. This collar may also be made in soft folds of velvet or satin, with a point nearing the waistbelt. Then there is the collar of flat fur which forms a cross-over and fastens at the back of the waistline.

Smartest of all is the model show

repetition of similar shadings in the hat, parasol, and other details.

GOLDEN RULES OF

BEAUTY

The careless good looks we read so much about these days are only achieved by dint of the most stu- dious caro. Art has, to conceal art, and subbloty is the keynote of an attractive appearance.

1932 will be a year of thrills ne well as frills, and every sort" and kind of invention and device. to hid beauty, is on the market. And not only this, but all the necessary ad juncta to a woman's toilet, such as creams, lotions, powders, rouge and lipstick, will not be so costly.

This should prove an added in- ducement to buy only those of irre proachable quality and refinement, achieving perfection and economy. for the better, to quality of the preparations, the longer they last, and the more beneficial their affucts,

Another revival are the light topa of white or pale-coloured georgottes quid laces, worn with a thin black urppella or a spotted silk-and-wool fabric skirt. These styles may have boon inspired by the old corse- let skirt, but the outor costes or cape must be there, too. Fashion: is so finished to-day; we should feel very undressed with a light top and a dark skirt, without our third-pieco.". The top of con- trasting colour and material is a very definite mode, but whether it be for afternoon, or evening, the coat or some connecting link with the skirt is necessary.
