So much progress has now been mado in the two Open Champion ship Events that it is hoped by the organisers to fill all the last eight positinis before Easter. A heavy programme has been drawn up, which bids fair to provide interest ing matches daily from to-day to Thursday.

AH the loading, players, with the exception of E. C. Fincher who has forget ahead in both events, will be soon in action this week and as the competitions have now reached a stage in which individual form is considered one of the greatest fas tors in the struggle for honours, their performances will, bo closely watched, and wilk to a large ex- tent, influence those followers of the game who are trying to judge, who will eventually win.

To-day. S. A. Rumjahn will be opposed to. Yow Man Kit, and although the former will probably win, a very good match ought to be seen. In the Open Doubles, interest will centre on the match between the Lo Brothers and L. T. Ride and A. L. Sullivan. in which a fine struggle should result in the former winning by n smali margin. Segalen and Walsham, who did very well in defeating Marton and Owen Hughes in the second round. are ex pected to beat W. M. Barton and A. CI. Bowker.

The main attraction on Wellnes duy will be the Open Doubles the betweg. Honda and Akiyama (run- nevs-up in 1927) and Eo Ka, Lau and Yew Man Kit. If both pairs. are inform a very interesting match should be seen, with the ro sult in doubt till the end. Honda is the predominating factor in the match, and unless the Chinese can fore their game aufficiently on Aki- yama, the Japanese are likely to win.
