SHANGRA January 28,
Mr. Murni announces oficially that the Chinese have accepted the four Japanese demands, namely, a formal apology and the payment of an indemnity; the arrest and punishment of the offenders and the control of anti-Japanese movements,
Mr. Murai says that the Chinese reply states that the anti-Japanese ani. Salvation Societies" in Shanghai have been ordered to close down by the Chinese authorities because they bave exceeded their authorised powers, and the Mayor has prohibited all similar activities.
Mr. Murai further adds that he has replied that the reply is satisfactory, but that the most important point is whether the Chinese will keep faith in carrying out their promises, he is, therefore, compelled to watch carefully that this is done and has warned the Chinese authori ties that, if they fall to give satisfaction, the Japanese wil, take whatever steps they consider 'necessary without giving any further notice,
