It was evident right from the beginning that both men wore out to make a short fight of it if pos- sible with the result that there was plenty of action. Morris exploited

a right hook to much advantago and he must have piled up a lot of points with it, for he brought a telling-clip to the chin, jaw and fueu time and again. Warnes also got in some hefty punches but he was fighting a 'much better man. Indeed the wonder was that he stood up to sueb a lot of punishment so gamely and although he lost to Mor. ris for the second time within the short space of a month, he at least has the satisfaction of knowing that his conqueror indood fully deserves the title and the Governor's Belt which is now his own, having won

There was plenty of action during the whole of the fight and although Morris might have finished his man on more than one occasion, there was just that little lacking in his punches that he could not hand out the "sleeping medicine." At the end of the fight both men were heartily cheered and there was not a single person in the audience who could have disagreed with the ver dict.

Capt. Burnett, H.M.S. Bruce,.. refereed the fight and so excellently did he do his job that after the boxera were each given his share of the cheers, the referee was given. special one. Immediately the fight was ever. Capt. Burnett sånd that he wished to say, before the verdict was ruinounced, that he had had many years of refereeing. nsid he could not remember having en joyed taking charge of a fifteen round content more than the one that had just been concluded, "T was a damned: gcod fight,' Capt Burnett concluded.

Mr. R. M. Dyer,, chairman of the Boxing Association. then tied the Bolt round Morris' waist amidst much applause.

L.S. Hall, H.M.S. Cumberland, gave up to L.S. Davis, H.M.S. Hermes, in the second of a mix round welterweight contest, Hall who broke his arm while training, had to stop owing to the fact that his arm gave way.

The ton-round heavyweight can test between A.B. Judge, H.M.S. Cornwall (18lbs), and AB. Long, H.M. Kent (165lbs.), resulted in the latter being disqualified in the eighth round. Although giving awny 16lbs., Long put up an ex- cellent ehow and looked as if he would have won had the fight, been allowed to go. on.

Pre. Roberts, S.W.B. (135lbя.), lost on points to A.B. Thomas, H.M.S. Suffolk (130lbs.), in a six- round featherweight contest.

A.B. Baldwin, H.M.S. Hermes (133lbs.); was given the verdict over Stoker Jobbins, H.M.S. Medway. (18.), in the fifth of a six-round lightweight contest.

A.B. Harry, HMS. Kent (140 be), beat A.B. Waterhouse, H.M.8. Cumberland (133lbs.) in a six- round welterweight contest.

During the course of the even- ing it was announced that A.B Sheppard. H.M.S. Cumberland, challenged anyone for the middle- weight championship of the Colony.. Both Signalman Morris and A.B. Long announced their willingness to accept the challenge.
