PRIDE OF TSINGTAO WINS FROM BOXING EVE: RACE DESCRIBED IN DETAIL.
MASTERLY RIDING BY HONG KONG'S CHAMPION" JOCKEY: FOUR WINNERS OFF THE REELS
[BY MORNING DEW."]
The final race meeting of the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the Tho 1981 season will be long remembered for two special reasons. Grat was the sensation defeat of the red-hot favourite, Sitting Bull, in. the Autumn Champions and the second, was the victory, of The Grouse on the very last stride of the rave in the Sube Champions
·
Mr. Leo Frost, the clumpion jockey, very appropriately ac- counted for both the Champion events. He rode a splendid race on The Grouse to win the Sabs' Champions from Good Day in the most thrilling finish of the year! It brought to mind the great finish which Y, S. Cheng proceed on King's Service to win the 1031 Derby.
To win four races off the reel, to account for the favourites in the only two classic events of the day and to dread the list of win- ning jockeys for the yene with 42 wins is an achievement of which any jockey might well be proud and Mr. Frost has certainly es- tablished himself, as a must dependable rider on the local courses. He received a tremendoua ovation from the public when Pride of Tsingtao was led in after winning the Champions and many of those who backed Sitting Bull to win were among the first to applaud Mr. Frost, for his oxcellent judgment.
HOW THE GROUSE WON SUBS' EVENT.

Favourite Falla, Bright Star, which was strond favourite to King's Colour, won, the opening race, the latter apparently finding the weight he was carrying too much of a problem. He was bentro pony when the straight was enterrd. King's Colour was nosed out of third place by Alanan Frost when the latter wasted in on
