LAWN BOWLS.

YORKSHIRE SOCIETY AND KOWLOON BG.C.

A lawn bowls match between the Kowloon Bowling Green Club and. the Yorkshire Society will be play. ed on the K.B.G.C. ground this afternoon, commencing at 3 delock. The following will be the terms:--

Kowloon Bowling Green Club:-, H. F. Stoneham, B. Wylie, R. S. Nichol, G. E. F. Thompson (Skip); O. 8. Beat, T. Fergusson, E. H. Hose, W. S. Drake (8kip):"G. H. Sherriff, J. B. Logan, T. 8. W. Wost, V. Petherick. (Skip).

The Match.

The weather seems most uncer tain. A beautiful morning yestor day gave way to cloudy mugginess with a bad light, and to-day's pros pects are a bit uncertain. The wicket had a thorough westing on Tuesday night and Wednesday, and if we should get any more rain, goodness only knows what will hap pen, It looks a bit plummy now, should not be surprised to see the game over in two days unless there is a change for the better, Just off the boat, it is not fair to judge the Shanghai men but I did not see anything better at neta than we have.

A Broadcast

I have been asked to state that an attempt will be made to broad cast the opening of the match from about 10.20 or 10.25 onwards for about three or four overs. As, how ever, it has not been done before and the geographical position puts the microphone in imminent danger of falling into long off's "head, Tor elsu

Third Lanark,

A Steeplechase.

The third race on the card is the Tai Po Stakes, a steeplechase over a mile and a quarter for ponies. that have not won more than one steeplechase this year. Montana, Marquis Hall, As You Like It and San Francisco are evenly matched here and I should like to see them all accepting. Montana, if Mr. Stanton sends him out, will be hard to beat. Marquis Hall is capablo of great things at unexpected mo. ments and it will not be in the least murprising to sse Lady Peel's colours among the placed candi- dates.

A poln sourry over half a mile is the fourth event on the card.] and if Mr. Bramwell reserves. San Francisco for this race, he has a big chance of winning in fact one would be justified in saying that. San Francisco is a certainty, here. Bed Leaves and Peter Gurney ought to take places,

The New Course Piste. The fifth race, over a mile, is for ponies in the "C1 and C2" Classes Christmas Belle has 185 pounds to look after, but in spite of this he seems to be too good for the rest of the entries and it sent out should just about win.

Mongolian Stag is in at the com- fortable weight of 147 pounds and i is sure to give a good account: e trimself as is Sunloch with 154 pounds. Aescia Leaf and Blue Boy ace good if one is looking for an outsider.

The Australians,

It will be interesting to see how the Australian ponies will take to the jumpa, On fat racing form, Wattle should get home as he is much better than the rest, of the entries which comprises Fritz, Pegasus, The Bustard and Thunder clays Fritz and Thunderclap "are about the same in class over a long distance but the former should finish ahead of the latter to-morrow because he will have the services of Mr. Stanton who is one of our best steepleclisse jockeys

After his fine run at Happy Valley when he was the seven furlongs in The Turbot effortless" - manner, should not have much difficulty in accounting for the last race of the chayathol in very much like the field which he beat at Happy Valley: on huvember - Celerity and Jester ought to iné a fairly good following and might get places.
