STRANGE CALENDAR FROM EGYPT:

Do we live in a lio-ubed 4gn7 Judging from the International Inventions Exhibition, which open od at the Central Hall, Westmina- tor, the answer is emphatically in the afirmative. There is" an "Im- proved Poultry House," which re- leases poultry, hb any given hour without disturbing the owner. There is an alarm clock which sup- plements its normal buzz by setting a gramophone record playing and arousen the sleeper to the accom- paniment of sweet music. And there are innumerable devices onlculated to convince the most hardy En- glishman that breakfast in bed is preferable to breakfast downstairs.

All the weird and wonderful in ventions that the world has been waiting for and a great many more besides are on show. One, a "Rear Object Mirror for Personal Use" is bound to prove popular with harassed schoolmasters and ex amination invigilators; it consists of a small reflector which can be affixed to any form of headgoar and thereby provides the wearer with an uninterrupted viaw of everything that is going on behind his back.
