SEVEN-SHOT HEAD FOR VISITORS.

During the last few days, the Colony's bowlers, and among themt those selected for the interport games, have been watching with keen interest the doings, of the Shanghai players in their practice games. Shanghai's victory in the first game played on the K.B.C.C. ground by 11 shots over a team which included at least two old and experienced players gaya.some food for thought, but the favourable. Shanghai played their last prac impression was almost obliterated tice game before the interport whan the visitors were convincing-of the Kowloon Deck Recreation yesterday when they were the guests ∙ly benton the next day, on the same | Club. G. B. Stormes, who had just ground, but on another green, arrived to complete the Shanghai team and reservos, took part in the which was distinctly patchy in

Įgame. parts. Richards, who played his. firal practica' game, was hopelessly out of his place as skip, and his other players found themselves utterly unable to adapt themselves to the green. "In marked contrast, Nichol and Hall, the former especi ally, played a strong game, Shang- hai won the third practice game' played on the Kowloon C.C. much ay they liked, and Richards, in rec. Atkinson trieving his previous failure," was H.. Cooper easily the best player on the green

Accustomed as they are to fast greens, the Shanghai, players did not feel comfortable in both their games at the Bowling Green Club, and here, by the way, is the ground' for the first interport game to-day, although the actual green for this important event has not yet been played on by the visitors. In the first practice game, the Shanghai players, as I gathered in my con versations, were in trouble bowlin's from the palin trees to the road, as at least to one" of them it srem od like rolling up hill. Then the next day the heavy drawing green almost in the far corner was exchanged for one with hardly any comparison when they played on the rink nearest the clubhouse. The visitors are full of praise for the Kowloon C.C. green and they were doubtless giving of their best when they played there.

Kowloon Dock won by three shots, the turning point coming in the 16th head when they scored four shots. A feature of the game was a score of seven shots by the Shang- hai team in the seventh bead, thanks to Pook trailing the jack when the local team wore lying four shots. This gave Shanghai the lend, but they were overtaken later.

The scores head by head were at under: Kowloon Dock.. Shanghai.
