The league football season was officially opened on Saturday when eight matches in the bres divisions were decided. The Cli
Club started their programme in fine style, getting slevon goals in their match with St. Joseph's who found the net three times. Howe, a now comer to local football, and a former Tientsin interporter, made a name for himself by getting eight. goals in the second half. The matches between Navy and Recreio and Argylts and Kowloon were cloao affairs with the first named team, winning by the odd goal in enoh instance.
In the second division, the Highlanders had an onay time against the Navy while Club de-Recreio scored oloved goals against the Radio Sports Club in their third division match,

The Hong Kong Fotball Club has reason to be proud of the fize start they made in the 1931-32 league football season for in their initial game they beat St. Joseph's by eleven goals to three, ou their own ground at Happy Valley. In this game the Club introduced a new player to local football in the porson of Howe, a former Tientsin interporter, who, in the second half, ran riot with the Saints' defence and netted no fewer than eight goal
The Club kicked off and after even exchanges had marked the opening of the game Leonard broke away to open the Saints ac count. From the kick-off, Segalen sent Alexander away and from his centre Bell equalised.
Leonard again showed another ablendid turn of speed in racing away from Strange and netting the ball, leaving Rodgers helpless but this access was shortlived for Alexander hended the equaliser

For a foul in the area the Club, were awarded a penalty kick, but Segalen went wide with his kick, St. Joseph's again took the lead when Leonard, found Rodgera out of position with a low drive.
