ATTENDANCE SURPASSES ALL EXPECTATIONS.

The Inaugural Race Meeting of the Macao Jockey Club proved. to be a huge success, this sporting venture receiving the whole hearted support of the racing community from Hong Kong. It is estimated that the steamers sailing from Hong Kong carried between thom over 3,500 passengers to Maono on Saturday afternoon and yesterday morning, The crowd, attending at the Areia Prata Race Course made an altogether brave show, which compared vory well with the attendanes at Happy Valley to which the Hosg Kong crowds are accustomed.

A "word of praise must be written of the officials and staff at the Race Course as things went absolutely without a hitch and the racing was finished an hour and a half before the Hong Kong Bound steamers were due to sail

Mr. B. A. Proulx was the most successful jockey of the day riding two winners in Sunloch and Mongolian Stag Favourites generally had a good day, but in the sixth race, Mr. B. C. Loo brought in Sonny Bay to pay a nice little dividend of $31.80 for a win.
