A feature of the mid-week cricket matches at Home was the big number of centuries' registered no less than thirteen players entering the land of three figures. The highest scorer was Frank Woolley, the Kent all-rounder, who trented the New Zealanders' bowling with scant respect to acore 224 runs. "Patsy" Hendren, the Middlesex atar, also got a double century scoring 203 out of 329 in their first innings against Northants at Lord's. By so doing he equalled the record of W. G. Grace, the Grand Old Man "of the game who put together 120 centuries during his career in first-
class cricket.
