The message from the Sepoy also states that on the south shore of "Tuning Bay, in the vicinity of Lew Neck, a search revealed the „pre- Bance of fifteen graves, the bodies of eleven Chinese, one horse and twenty-three shop, in addition to many Indo-China Steam Naviga- tion Company lifebelts. LAST WEER'S ACTIVITIES.-

TUESDAY, August 18.

Mr. Eugene Chen is a well-built son of rather loss than moderate height, with iron-grey hair and a heavy dark moustache. Despite his apparently highly strung tem porament ho seems possessed of a great sense of humour, and a hear, ty laugh to which he gave full play on the motor launch when a member of his entourago, who had evidently overalent, dashed along the quay and onto the launch with his suit hastily pulled on over his pyjamas.

The party then left for Hong Kong to make connection with the 9 am, steamboat for Canton.

MISSIONARIES MARRIED.

PRETTY WEDDING ON SATURDAY.

Miss Violet Mary Chenworth of Fatahan was married to Dr. Neil Duncan Fraser of Swatow on Satur day at the Wesleyan Methodist Church. The Rev. F. Brewatoe officiated at the ceremony, which was largely attended, the wedding being of particular interest in the mission field.

The bride, who was given away by the Rev. J. C. Knight Anster, looked charming in a dress of white net and lace. She carried a bouquet of white flowers. The Matron of Honour, Mrs. Knight Anstey, was attired in a dress of blue figured chiffon, and wore gray and blue hat

After a reception, the happy couple left for their honeymoon, the bride's travelling dress being of 'beigo lace and georgette. She wore a green hat and beige shoes, and carried a green bag.

All the dresses were executed by Eve, Gloucester Building Arcade.
