ANOTHER KIDNAPPING
CASE.
SMART SENTENCE ON WOMAN.
Sentence of one year's imprison ment was passed yesterday by Mr. Williams on a Chinese woman who was convicted in a kidnapping case. The allegation against her was that she took a 13-year-old girl to Can- | ton, and on failing to sell her there, brought her back to Hong Kong. The girl became seriously ill und was admitted to the Kwong Wah Hospital and it was through this illness that news of her whereabouts reached her guardians...
In reply to his Worship, Inspec tor John Murphy of the S.CA., for the prosecution, said that the girl was betrothed to: the complainant's son, and was living with her pros pective mother-in-law in a boat. On July 9 she was sent ashore to purchase some sweets when the de-

her to go to Kowloon, and later to Canton, where several people were 24th brought to see her.
