WHEN LORD KYLSANT WAS SENTENCED.
SCENE AT THE OLD BAILEY.
WHAT SECOND DIVISION" "MEANS.
LONDON, July 31
Mr. Justice Wright at the Old. Bailey yesterday, sentenced Lord Kyliant, chairman of the Royal Mail Steam Packet Com pany, to twolve months imprisonment in the second division.
The fury after an absence of three hours, had found Lord Klysant guilty on the second of the charges against him-that of making and publishing a prospectus of the R.M.SP. Company which he knew to be false in a material particular, with intent induce persons to entrust or advance property to the company." On the other charge of publishing false annual reports for the years 1928 and 1927-he was found not guilty.

Lord Kylsant then left dock and, after a brief interview with his wife in the cell below, he was taken to Wormwood Berube prison, where he spent the night.
An application by bia counsel, Sir John Simon, for bail pending an appeal was refused by the judge, who said it was a matter outside his jurisdiction. Sir John Simon autounced that the application would be made eloowhere. (This appli cation was granted according to a Reuter cablo.)
