SIR W. HORNELL'S VIVID SIDELIGHTS FROM THE PAST

INTERESTING ADDRESS AT ROTARY CLUB MEETING,

A very strong, incentive, to the study of history was embodied in an address. delivered by Sir William Hornell yesterday at thỏ Rotary Club luncheon.

Sir William, in the course of his remarks, drew many pictures of life in the past and pointed out instance after instance of acts in history which were difficult to understand and which provid- od much food; for an imaginativo mind.

The address was well-named "The Commerce of Thought" and in the words, of Mr. M. K: Lo, who thanked Sir William on bo half of Rotariaus, the address made us sort of wish that thoro wore samo of the books of reference at hand in order to answer the conundrums that were propounded."

It was announced by the Chairman, that Mr. Wong Tape; 4 member of the Rotary Club, who has been in hospital for some time with pleurisy, is progressing as well as might be expected. The announcement was greeted with applause.
