Dr. M. D. Mackenzie has been designated by the League Health Organisation to proceed shortly to Lilerin, where he will elaborate a plan of public health and sanita- tion reorganisation in accordance with the rect plan of assistance worked out by the Committee of the Council which met in London early in March. "JUST IMAGINE."

"Just Imagine," which opened yesterday at the King's, is a film which should not be missed..

The film has opportunities beyond that of any other medium of story telling. The legitimate dranın, is bounded by the dimensions of the stage, the written story by the intelligence of the reader; but the man who sets; uns to tell a story on the cinema screen has the oss of the earth, sea and sky for his scenery. He has amazing reapurees of money at his command, a very wide choice of acters, and the astonishingly elever tricks of the photographer to help him in, creat ing illusions. For the past two years his shadow players have been able to make their voices heard, and, in addition, by no means un successful attempts have been made at color photography,

It was

the apparent want of realisation of the chances offered by the film that made many of the first talking pictares disappointing, Having gained a hig step forward in getting sound the cinema workl seemed to he struck by, a sadden timidity and feared to take their actors off the stage. They went even further in producing a series of film versions of stage pinys. But quite apart from the vast eritivas of nature which the file has for an ever changing and living back cloth, there was always this opportunity of presenting sonia- thing beyond the world. The film is free of the world of fantasy, if only those that make films enn find the imagination to create that world.
