A
DUNBAR STABLE WINS THREE RACES.
VETERÁN JOCKEY RIDES FOUR WINNERS IN SECOND
DAY OF WHITSUN RACE MEETING.
VALOROUS ACCOUNTS FOR BOXING EVE.
(BY "MORNING DEW."].
The second day's racing of the Whitsun meeting proved to be
n great success as favourites and outsiders shared honours evenly,
while riding honours were also erenly distributed.
An unusual feature of the day's racing was that Mr. L. Frost, our leading jockey, failed to account for any of the races on the eard although he rode several favourites,
Mr G. A. Harridin and Mr. G. U. da Roza made up for their bad "joss" on Saturday by winning in the first and second races, respectively. Mr. Harriman also brought in Fritillery" later in the day, and Mr. da Roza won on Holly Leaf. Mr. Heard was thi most successful jockey, riding four winners during the afternoon.
Boxing Eve was beaten in a mile and a quarter race by Vakoır. eux, while Sitting Bull, which went under to Boxing Eve on Satur day, had no difficulty in winning the mile and a half handicap for "A" elasa ponies,
ZORHAN LAST IN FIELD OF FOUR.
Paul Pry's First Win.
The first race of the day over five furlongs for unsuccessful ponies produced four starters, these being Crown Prince, Sanction, Paul Pry and Lobster. Bay, Banction and Crown Prince were all the rage in the betting, but both were beaten by Paul Pry and Lobster Bay. The favourites were outpaced from the start and could not catch up with the ultimate winner, Paul Pry, at any stage. Lobator Bay was a length behind with Sanction three lengths behind.
Bronze Eye's Sprint,
Calamity. Redskina and Agate made a good fight for third place and after a close tussel, Mr. Heard managed to get the verdict for 'Red- akina.
Sitting Bull's Easy Win,
Sitting Dull, Fortung Bay and Gold Key were the only starters in the "A class race for the May Handicap Fortune Bay set the pnee most of the way, but it was pretty slow going all the time and fùt thò Rock' after the first mile both Sitting Bull and Gold Key passed him. Sitting Bull drew away from Gold Key in the village and finished by himself. Gold Key and Fortune Bay made a race of it in the straight, but Mr. Harriman on Gold Key had no difficulty in earning
,
Favourite Beaten."
The second sprint event on the eard fell to Bronze Eyes ridden by Mr. G. U. da Roza. The win was a meritorious one as Mr. Roza | second place money for his owner. brought in Bronze Eyes absolutely at the post. Mr. Stewart riding Thunderous Stag had a bad start. Tunney was much in demand for hut he soon took his mount to the the Crocodile Stakes, but he was van where it ran behind Cloudy beaten by Fi-Fa ridden by Mr. Eve until the straight was reached. Liang. Tunney remained in the van Here he passed the leader at the after the first three furlongs, but distance post, only to be passed in Fi-Fa hung conveniently near all turn right at the winning post by the way and took the lead just be: Bronze Eyes. The finish was afore entering the straight. Although very thrilling one.. Mount Elburz the pony bored slightly in the run was third.
in, Mr. Laing rode a clever mace and managed to get ahend, of Tunney at the distance post, remain ing in front long enough to win, Tunney and Pacemaker were second and third, respectively,
Or even
Zorban Comes In Last.. Zorhan finished last in a field of four in the next race over six for longs. He was very well backed but from the start it was obvious that Zarhan was not in his usual

was favoured for the last race but Little Benver set a fast pace but was placed. Holly Leaf won this could not slake off Gleneagles which event from Daylight Eve. Mr. Rozs passed him easily in the straight to rode the winner in the van all the win much as lie pleased. Little way and appeared to outpace The Beaver was second and Jill just Tiger. Daylight Eve stayed wear managed to oust Zorhan from third the Holly Leaf until the straight place,
was renched when Mr. Reidy asked the pony for a special effort but failed to find any response. The Tiger faded out of the race threa furlongs from home. Peppercorn came up with a rush in the last few yards and came within head of Daylight Eve.
f
Kr. Heard's Second Win. After winning on. Gleneagles, Mr. Heard went on to win the Lantno Handicap "B" Class on Cyclamen Bay. The winner proved that he was much better than the others in this class, in spite of the fact that he was carrying top weight. City Hall gave his supporters a momen- tary hope when he challenged strongly in the straight, but Cycla- men Bay had no difficulty in keep- ing him away. Nippy was a good third.
Mr. Harriman in Form, Mr. Harriman showed that he was in riding form when he steered Fritillery home in the next race. The pony has been place on more occasions then one cares to remem-
ber. Fritillery was prominent most of the way round over the six fur- longs and cane smartly away in the straight. The public, strangely. enough, made Empress Hall a warm favourite, but the pony was badly left at the start and consequently could not make any show at all. Morning Star and Mindoro ridden hy Messrs. In Kui Ying and ̈A. A. R. Botelho, respectively, filled the remaining places.
Whitsun Plate,
For this race there were three starters, Valorous, Boxing Eve and Wisdom Stag. The ponice finished in that order and although the Taco was run in 9 minutes 19 Bonds, Boxing Eve had to be antisfied with second place a few lengths behind Valorous, Wisdom Stag, in spite of the slow time was
poor third. Valorous stayed be hind Boxing Eve until the bend be fore the straight, when he took the lead and was never beaded again. Boxing Eve was obviously suffering from the effects of Saturday's gruelling race.
A Doad Heat.
The "D" Class race over six furlongs resulted in a dead hont be tween Bay of Bellingham ridden by Mr Soares and Bay of Calamity ridden by Mr. H. A. Botelho. The two ponies led into the straight and, at one time it looked as if Batur day'a winner had met his Waterloo, hut Mr. Soares, by a special effort, brought us atqunt wys just in time to share the honours with Bay of
