Sir Ernest Wild, K.C., the Re- corder nt the Old Bailey, passed sentence of 15 months' imprison-. ment on Cecil Evans, 18, a druni- mer in the Welsh Guards, who pleaded guilty to uttering a letter demanding £15 with menaces from a clerk referred to as "Mr. A.” whom he met in Hyde Park.
"I command the police to re double their vigilance in order to make the park possible for decent citizens after nightfall," Sir Ernest Baid.
Mr. Howard (prosecuting) said that Evans met "Mr. A." in 1928, and since then they had met fre quently in the park.
