GREAT NEW DOCK.

100 ACRES OF LAND RECLAIM- ED FRO WASTE OF MUD.

Binborough Dock, the new deep water basin on the Cheshire bank of the Mersey was opened by Mr. William Graham, President of the

Board of Trade.

The dock has been constructed by Lever Brothers to facilitate the transport of their products.

A hundred acres of land have been reclaimed from muddy waste. The works extend for a mile and a quarter along the foreshore, about 2 miles north of the Easthamn en- France to the Manchester Ship Canal.

The dock itself, with its adjoin ing quays, occupies about 37 acres, and the reclamation of the waste ground will provide 100 acres of new land suitable for industrial development.

More than a million cubic yards❘ of material. have been excavated.
