Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer announcer the opening to-morrow at the Queen's Theatro of "Strictly Un. conventional, all-talking adapta. tion of Somerset Maugham's ma- trimonial satire, "The Circle."

The picture is rated, as one of the few all-star stories ever writ ten. It has six parts, all of them of exactly equal value. and it abounds in clever lines.

In fnot, as the all-star vehicle oi Jahn Drow and Mrs. Leslie Car- ter a few years ago, it scored one > the most conspicious aUCCESĶES the American singe has known" Ita. sharp, keen wit, and its laughable situations broke house records nil over the United States and Canada. Direction of this satire was put in the hands of David Burton, con- sidered one of the most competent artists to come from the stage to talking pictures, Burton attained prominence on the stage as director of "The Swan." "The Royal Fami. ly." "Serena Blandish" and "The Racket."

"REMOTE CONTROL."

A clever story of a master-crook who directs the activities of a gang of bank robbers by giving out eluos in nightly radio talks, forms the idea behind William Haines' nowosy' Motro-Goldwyn-Mayer talkio, "Re- tote Control." now showing at the Queen's Theatre. Haines has one this most interesting roles to date as manager of the broadcasting station who becomes implicated in' the robberies but manages to prove his innocence by tracking down the ren! crooks.

Combined with the high tension mystery is a huge fund of typien! Taines comedy, one scene being particularly riotous, in which the comedian imitates a number of well-known radio atars. Polly Moran, in the guise of an advisor te beauty seeking flappers, adda to the hilarity while equally good performances are offered by Mary Doran in the feminine lead; Char

ie King, who sings the picturo's sung hit, "Just a Little Closer;" John Miljan. as the. bad man;” J. C. Nugent, Edward Nugent, Wilbur Mäck, James Donlan,” Ed- ward Brophy, Warner P. Richmond and Russell Hopton. But the loud. ing honours must go to Haines, whose apendid handling of both the comedy and dramatic angles of his part marks another bigh spot in his talkie career.

“Animal Crackers,” which in showing for the first time at the King's Theatre to-day, lins plenty

of action and not a little humour! in the telling of the story.

A stately hostess is giving a house party at her palatial country hous The four famous Marx Brothers burst into the sound as a big game hunter, his secretary, and two ragabond musicians, and pro- vide any number of amusing in- cidenta. It is said that "Animal Orackers" gives an opportunity for the appearance of even more pretty girls in bathing suits and various stages of undress than the average revue which is saying a good, deal.
