Knight Error, after being third in the race a year ago, and per forming consistently thereafter, was third favourite, and justifled the support given to him by n vory strong finish after Pomerellen had held the land until two fur longs from home.
Airman, Masaai, Rivalry, and 'The Mashor (which was favourite at 10 to 1) followed the first three in that order. There were 95 starters, and Knight Error won in 1 min. 45 3/5th seconds.
