DIANA BAY SHOWS A CHAMPION'S FORM: CANTERS HOME IN 27.3 SECONDS.

Details of the training gallops on Saturday will be found below, from which it will be seen that Diana Bay is in fine fettle nt the moment and bids fair to win the Champions. The pony was taken over a mile and a half, and though he started slowly, finished up vory well., “The last mile was done in 2.63.3 and the last half mile 57.3 seconds the last quarter being 27.3 seconds.. The pony Anished up still fresh and unless some entirely unforeseen circumstances should arise". there seems to be no doubt that Diana Bay will walk away with the Champions. Incidentally his two rivals will be Apollo, and Hetinan. The former, while a thoroughly good pony in every way, is no match for Díana Bay in her present condition. Hetman was galloped yesterday and though he ran very well, I do not think he has any chance whatever against Dinną Bay.

Fortune Bay and Champagne Bay, two of Mr. Dunbar's Derby candidates, were responsible for some fast work on the course, Mr. Heard took out Sam Houston over a mile and a half but no fast work was done,

Woodland Stag, one of the Australian ponies, went over a last mile, taking 2.043 for the journey. The various quarters were covered in 31, 32, 30.3 and 28 seconds, respectively, which is pretty good going indeed..

Mr. "Billy" Hill, arrived last week as did Mr. T.. Y. Yung. The former will be riding for Mr. Dunbar and the latter for a Chinese aiable. Messra, T. L. Wong and H. C. Pih ure dna to arrive in Hong Kong to-day.
