Another long list. of ponies was clacked on Saturday and readers will notice that among the griffins Mrs. Dunbar's Derby pony Sam Houston did a very excellent gallop over the Derby distance. The time was 3 minutes 18 seconds for the whole journey and the gallop was out- standingly, the beat of the season because the pony fluished in 30 seconds. I do not recollect any other pony doing the same. Inst quarter after speeding over the distance in the vicinity of 3.18. The Inat mile, it might be interesting to aud, was done in 2 minutes and 7 seconds only!

Another of Mrs. Dunbar's ponies, Tinns, took eight seconds longer for the journey, bub finished oven more impressively taking only 20.3 seconds for the last quarter 2

Mr. L. P. Quincey, Mr. Hunt and Mr.-Y. S. Chang arrived from Shanghai recently and were riding at Happy Valley on Saturday, Mr. Quincey will again ride for the biggest Chi- nese owner in the Colony, Mr. Chin Tim Son. He tried out some of the Derby grilling of this stable on Saturday. Mr. Pote Hust rodo. "Eva" on Saturday. He was not herh last season, but is no stranger to the Hong Kong rage-going public. Mr. Y. S. Chang came down last year to ride for the Lau and Leg stable, but I hear he will be riding for the "Dynasty" stable this year. The stable has some very good animals and Mr. Y. S. Chang is likely to figure well at the head of the table of successful jockeys at the close of the Annual Race Meeting.
