DISAPPOINTING "SHOW AFTER GOOD DISPLAY: IN INTERPORT TRIAL.

KOWLOON OVERCOME CHINESE ATHLETIC ON RAILWAY GROUND,

After their fine, display against the interport trial team last week, much was expected of the Navy when they started their game against South China at the Stadium on Saturday, but the sailors greatly disappointed their supporters and were badly trounced to the tune of seven goals to two. The Chinese played n better all-round gaine and fully deserved their win,

On the railway ground, Kowloon did very well to take the" pointa from the Athletic, while in the second division the Borderers rise to the second position by virtue of their fine win over the strong Enatern tea. The Nary had an easy time against Kow- loon while the Athletic got the better of their encounter with the Gunners. R.A.0.0. continue to win in the third division, their victims this time being Fukica Club and on their present formi they should finish up on the top of the league table. R.A.O.C. DASHING DISPLAY.

SELBY AND LAMMERT BRILLIANT: GRIFFTHS GREAT TRY.

Most of the British residents of the Colony seemed to have turned up at Happy Valley on Saturday to see the rugger Inter- port match. It can be said definitely that they were well foward- ed for their patronage.

The scene reminded me irresistibly of an international match at Twickenham from the line up of the players for, inspection by the Governor to the bursts of appinuse that greeted a clover movement in the game.

The weather was perhaps as good as could have been expect ed. There was a cold wind blowing across the ground, and the aun shone brightly for the greater part of the match.

The result, a win for Hong Kong by 21 points (three goals and, two, trice) to a try, 3 points, clearly indicates the local team's' superiority and thère enn be no doubt that they were the better

team.
