Both men have an equal number of supporters and in conversation with people connected with the noble art in the Colony, I have beard many opinions on what is: likely to be the ultimate result of the scrap.

I saw both lads yesterday and can only say that they both look very fit and well. First of all. ran into "Jock" hear the Post Office, and one might have thought ho was going to a dañcu tonight rather than taking part in a title bout" for all the concern ho dis played.

TO-MORROW' PROSPECTS AT KWANTI.

GOOD RACING EXPECTED.

{BY MORNING DEW."]

Notwithstanding the limited en- tries for to-morrow's racos' at Kwanti, some very keen racing is anticipated and there can be no doubt that another very large crowd will make the trip to Fauling to sco

the sport.

There are six races on the card and the first evont should be the bost. I have tipped. Fanling Stag to win this race, but no doubt thero will be a large number of people who think that Forn Loaf haa & batter chance. The last named is avery accomplished jumper but his ago is against him. Bright Prospect is running very well at the moment, I hear, and should be backed each

way.

If Mr. Stanton should start Montana here, I think he will as count for the race notwithstanding the fact that Montana will be carry- ing top weight. Blue Bey and The Partridge are both good but I think the race (1) miles) is a bit too long for either.

China New Year Handicap. The China New Year Handicap over the mile and quarter will no doubt attract the. bost chasors. Christmas Frolic has showr in the past that he is n big factor in the Kwangai course and he will take some beating. I seo Young Pre- tender is entered and he should show a great flash of speed, but I fear he will not stand the distance. The same remarks ppply to Gay Caballero,: which had real hard luck. in losing the last time ho was out as he was leading by about twenty. lengths when Mr. Charles wan

thrown.

The Volunteers Winter Cup, an unofficial race over the mile, ought to produce a keen finish as the entries are very well balanced with Sumping looking a shade better than the others on paper. Heretofore aught to make him run and Done Again also might turn up a sur prise winner, but Sunning will be. certain to be the favourite and, in- dood, he has an excellent chance.

Ladies' Cup.

The Ladies' Cup ought to attract a good fold but since all wingers of any race since January 1, 1930, are barred, there is going to be dilleulty for the ladies to chose good mounta, pa even second rate ponies are barred by this condition.

The final event on the card bas six entries, and I think if 'Marquis Hall is kept for this event he should win, that is if he is sent out early in the race and, not kept lengths behind. Christmas Belle is likely to extend him and Dinna is an- other that is likely to catch the judge's "eye.
