[TO THE EDITOR OF THE “ HƠNG KONG DAILY PREBA."]

Sin, road with great interest the speech delivered by Mr. James Bell, M.P. ad the Rotarian Tifin of yesterday.

I am not a Rotarian.

I am not an Industrialist, por do I pretend to any deep knowledge of Industrial problems,-but all right thinking men must agree with Mr. Bell in one thing that the lot of the manual labourer should be improved everywhere, and that their lives should be brightened and their Bardships diminished by all possible means If Trade Unions exist to that end Teds Unions are good.

But there is one question I should like to ask Mr. Bell who in I presume, a "Labour" M.P.

Batchelor, who volun- teered her evidence, said that the people in the funeral procession looked a drunk that she thought it dangerous to pass and had told her syce to go slowly,

At the second day's hearing Mr. Justice Sprouls dismissed the jury on the ground that the foreman was employed in the same firm as Mr. Reid and Mrs. Mason's hus band. A new trial with a now jury were ordered.
