CONVOCATION OF PEOPLE'S

CONFERENCE.

Over a dozen passengers and members of the traing' crews were injured more or less seriously by the impact.

Except for one third-class passen- ger car, the two trains were not derailed by the accident.

The accident was due to the care- Lessness of the engineer of the froight train coming down from Shiukwan. When the train was ap proaching Sun Kai Station, the flag- man waved a red flag, signalling him to stop because of another training coming up, from Canton. The two trains were supposed to have passed one another at this junction, where the tracks double, but the freight train com- ing from Shiukwan for some reason failed to observe the signal and collided with the up train.

The injured were quickly rushed to the Kongtauen Hospital, where medical attention was given.

HOME FOR DISABLED SOLDIERS.

CANTON, Jan. 23. Under the direction of General Chen Tagi Tong, the Canton Mili- tary Headquarters is planning to erect a huge factory to provide work for disabled and maimed soldiers.

The plan is similar to that of the British Government in the caring of ite disabled soldiers.

Lam Sai Kong, in Tungehan, has been chosen for the site on which the factory will be constructed. The total cost, including the machinery and other equipment, will be in the neighbourhood of $1,500,000. *.

The maimed and disabled soldiers will be comfortably cared for there. There will be over 10 departments of works, and each soldier will select the occupation for which he is best fitted. The factory is essen- tially a home for the maimed and disabled.
