II.E. the Governor, Sir William Pool, K.B.E.,. .C.M.G.. presided at the annual meeting of the Hong Kong Boy Scouts. Association held at the Cathedral Hall yestedray. Sir William, who is the Chief Scout of the Association, evinced much intercat in the Scouts movement and in his address to the meeting appeal- ed for more young men to " enlist" to fill the many vacancies of scoutmasters, and other officers with similar experience, required to train Boy Scouts in Hong Kong.

DEATH OF MR. HAROLD A. JONES.

His many Triends in the Far East; will regret to bear of the death.. which occurred in England on December 27, of Mr. Harold A. Jones who was on a holiday at the Lime Ho had been in indifferent health for some time past and was a patient at one of the London, hospitals, suffering from a heart attack. Later, he was admitted to a hospital in Birmingham, where he presed away.
For over twenty years Mr. Jones had been with Messrs. Moutric & Company, werving them in Singa | pore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. He held the position of manager of the firm in Hong Kong for mapy years and left for Abanghai to ne- sume the position of Secretary.
