Meen, whe had boxed splendidly. an the defensive in the first round, tried similar tactics in the next, and early caught Carnera on the jaw with a left hook, but as he bore in the Italian met him with punish- ing lefts and rights to the ribs, and Meen went down from a left book which caught him on the jaw, stay. ing down for a count of nine. He came up dazed and groggy, and staggered round the ring."

Carnera, boxing like a champion, was quick to seize his advantage, and stepped in and delivered'smash- ing lefte and rights to the bend while. Meen staggered round the rope defenceless. It was obvious. that the unequal conteat was over, for Moon had no defends and was at the mercy of the Italian. The referee stepped between the men and relieved Meen of further punish- meat.

The referee took the only possible course when he stopped the contest, for Carnera was driving Meen round the ring, punishing him to head and body as he wished. The fight lasted 4 minutes 30 seconds. As far as boxing was concerned there was nothing to choose between them. Meon, indeed, in the first round showd remarkable defensive

powers.

Meen Not Much Damaged,

Meen was not in the least distress- ed when he reached his drossing- room. A doctor examined him, and save for a slightly bruised left eye ho showed little injuries.

"I am very glad that the referee stopped the fight," said Carners "Meon is a great boxer-too game to be knocked out. I can tell you that he hurt me once or twice with his punches, but I suppose I was too strong and heavy for hini."

A sound film, was taken of the pontest.

Mr. Moss Deyong, the referee, aid to a reporter after the fight; "I am in the ring to rule the fight, and it seemed to me that it is my duty to stop a contest when I see such a good and game boxer us Moon in danger of taking more punishment than is good for him. Meen is a line boxer, but. Carnera was too strong for him."
