Within so short a time of the A.D.O. production of the play of the same name it was pleasant to find "The Middle Watch" (Hodder & Stoughton, 7/0) by Stephen King Hall and Ian Hoy, waiting my attention. The book followa the script of the play vary closely, with only a little padding hors and there to cast it into story form, but you nicet old jokes in a new dress, so to speak, in seeing them in print instead of bearing them spoken. As nearly every witty remark is witty in more ways than one you will find new things to laugh at besides the memory that will take you back to the Theatre Royal.
