The Equity's, rule provides that an alien player may enjoy the privi. leges of an American resident-mem- ber only after performing one hun- dred weeks on the American stage. If the player has not one hundred weeks to his credit, then he must remain idle for six months between. one contract, and another.
Miss Taylor said: "Mr. Sinclair and I were married here last Janu ary. I played for 30 wicks in one productice, after which I returned to England to allow the six months period to clapse.
I have been offered the leading role in another play, which may not Inst more than five weeks, and after that I shall have to return to Eng. land for another six months to avoid complete idleness,

Senator Borah said to-day that as if we were facing a future of in-
definite separation,” attacks on the Soviet now are de signed to interfere with American trade with Russia just at a time when America needs foreign mar kets.
"
"The Russian trade is there, said Senator Borah. Somebody is bound to obtain it. Therefore; attacks by America on the Soviet will merely turn the valuable Rus sian trade into other channels. We must realize that our only hope for market extension lies in Russia and China,
And China, Too, Senator Borah declined to discuss methods of dealing with Chine at present. However, he said that the should be cultivated and that pre- set trade relations should be fos- tered.-
Mr. Frank Gilmore, president of the Equity, said that no exception could be made in alias Taylor's

The Company will be in a position to take full advantage of all the latest epoch-making inventions in shipbuilding and avoid having nny part of its capital tied up in obsolete equipments.
This means that a Motor Shipbuilding Yard with Repairing Works for all types of Motors will not only have now-buildings to com- plete but will have repair work on hund on an increased scale.
A Yard specialising in Motors requires less machinery and equip- ment than an ordinary shipyard, thus eliminating heavy and expensive plants for the building of boilers and other steam auxiliaries. What is essential in a Motor Shipbuilding Yard is a well-equipped Repair Shop for Diesel Engines and Motors for land and sea and up-to-datô facilities for docking shipa
