STOMACH-RESTING INDIGESTION CURE.
cure for indigetion-so simple that many will hesitate to put it to the test"-is recommend. ed to suffercra by Dr. D. Techmere Anderson, medical officer of health for Doncaster, in a paper issued by the Central Council for Health Education.
The substance of Dr. Anderson's cure is simply that sufferers from indigestion should give the stomach a rest and æduloužly avoid snacks between meals.
·Medicinos of any kind seldom cure indigestion, he says. The root of the trouble is in the muscles of the stomach walls which influence the gastric glands and the intestin- al muscles.
As with the muscles, so it is with the millions of glands which are embedded in the coils of the digestive organs".etaics Dr. An- derson. "Called too frequently inioaction, they do their utmost to respond, but sooner or later they are bound to fail and indigos. tion results.
"Appetite is the finest digestivo tonic. Therefore, let the dyspeptic. miss a meal, and if it is the most subsantial one of the day so much the better. He must, of course, have, no snack of any kind, and if something ¡must be taken water will be found not only useful In
relieving any temporary craving: for food, but by àts laving and purifying action will help to cleanse and purify the mucous lin ings of the organs and to relieve constipation."
