RESULTS OF RAFFLES.

THE GROSS RECIPTS.

The gross receipts during the whole day of the St. Vincent de Paul Bazaar wore over 80,000 and the Society's special thanks are due to the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank for allowing this money to be taken into the Bank at night, thus reliev ing the Committee of great respon sibility.

The total gross takings including the sale of roses and motor-car tickets amounted to $20,808:33.

The body of the lato Mr. William Farmer, who died in Shameen, Canton, on Meadny, was laid to rest at the Old Residents' Section of the Protestant Cemetery at Happy Valley yesterday.

ROBBERY.

SANITARY BOARD COOLIE CHARGED

Before Mr. R. E. Lindsoll pb the Central Mugistracy yesterday a Chinese Sanitary Board chelie was charged, with highway robbery It Was alleged by the prosecution that the defendant, togollier with two men accosted the complainant, a coolic employed by the Hong Kong Electric Co., in a lane near Tai Hang Village, Causeway Bay, and demanded to search him, After taking $3:60 from the complainant, the defendant, it was alleged, struck him a blow and ran away.
