SOUTH WALES BÖRDERERS WIN THEIR FIRST MATCH IN THE HONG KONG LEAGUE.
Before a large crowd at Happy Valley on Saturday, the Civilians defeated the Royal Navy in the first of the games in the Lai Wah Cap competition by the comfortable margin of five goals to two. The result did not come as a surprise as the Civilians fielded a very formidable eleven and are fancied by many as being able to retain the Cup for another season.
The South Wales Borderers played their first matchy in the Colony when they beat the R.A. by 62 at Sookunpoo while the Division II. match at the Stadium resulted in a runaway win for the Navy against the Athletic "B" by 7 goals to 2.

There were some close struggles in Division III. Fukion and Ewo fought out a good draw. The R.A.S.C. are still without a win.

Only two league fixtures were played over the week-end, and while one of them (C.C.C. v. Polico) résulted in a draw, the other saw the Indian Recreation Club 2nd XI. register their sixth conse- cutive win of the season, their victims this time being the Royal Corps of Signals.
The leaguo fixture, between the Craigengower Cricket Club and Hong Kong Cricket Club was turned into a friendly and this resulted in a win for the Happy Valley team by 10 rune. Kowloon C.C. accounted for the Royal Artillery easily in the senior division but their junior eleven had a hard time on the C.S.C.C. ground where they wore beaten by five wickets. The encounter between. H.K.C.C. 2nd XI. and Club de Recreio on the former's ground Baw the home team winning rather comfortably.
The bigbest scorer of the afternoon was F. E. Lawrence of the Kowloon Cricket Club who put together 65 rapidly in their match with the Artillery, while bowling honours went to F. M. el Arculfi” of the I.R.C. Seconds, who took 5 wickets for 0 runs in their game with the Royal Corps of Signals.

At King'a Park, Kowloon Cricket Club defeated the Royal Artillery by the comfortable margin of soven wickets.
