AT WEST POINT.
VISITORS IMPRESSED WITH THE BEAUTIES OF HONG KONG.
There was a large gathering of prominent Chinose Indios and gantiorion at the Man Kwck Restaurant jast night when the Wah On Exporters' Association entertained the Canadian Trade Mission to China to a Chinese dinner.
In the course of his speech welcoming the visitors, the Chairman of the Association. sald that- the reason why the trade between China and Canada was backward was perhaps due to the lack of co-ordination between the merchants of the two countries.
The Chairman of the Canadian Polegation, Mr. John M. Imris, pointed out that the trade between the two countries during the past five years has grown immensely. He also paid a tri- buto to the work of the plancers in Hong Kong and commented on the beauty of the Harbour and other places in the Colony and said that Hong Kong was indeed the cross-roads of the Orient.
Speaking on behalf of the Chinïvae community as a whole, the Hon. Dr. R. H. Kotowall, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and deplored the fact that their stay in the Colony was all too short.
