It is stated in ocial quarters that Mo Tch Hui, the head of the Chineso delegation, to the Sino- Soviet Conference, has despatched a letter to M. Karakhan protesting ngaitet M. Karakhan's Note.

Mo. Teh Hui says that he was misrepresented by M. Karakhan, as he had agreed to the main- tenance of the status quo of the Chinees Eastern Railway in accord- ance with the Pelping and Mukden Sino-Russian Agreements relative to the Chinese Eastern Railway, and not to the maintenance of the present status quo'of the railway."
