EXTENDING THE CHURCH.
Mrs. Cummard is twenty-one years of age, and is styled the Arst Mormon girl missionary to be sent to England by the parent church in Utah. In the performance of her missionary work she will re main in Manchester until next gum. mer, Mrs. Cummard is a school teacher, and her husband told a Press representative that she had saved up in order to be able to work for a time as a missionary. "Our missionaries get no pay," he said, "and they have to pay their own expenses. They do it for the love of the thing. Nearly all our young people look forward to being missionaries for a period, and we never have say shortage of men and women for the work."
