A "STABLE" CAR.
INVENTION TO SECURE SMOOTH RUNNING.
A Cologne motorist claims to have invented on apparatus which, when fitted to the chassis of motor. car, preserves the equilibrium of the car under any reasonable con- ditions. Its design is said to be simple, and tests made with it seem to confirm the invetitor's claims.
This invention will enable a rock less driver to swing his car round a enrage with an agle of 90 degrees at forty miles per hour without any- thing untoward happening. That is to say, although some of the wheela may temporarily leave the road the ear itself will maintain such a posi- tion that it will still be capable of containing the reckless driver. He may drive fast and furiously over the wettest asphalt and again nothing will happen. He may jam an the brakes more suddenly than he has ever done before; there will will be no skid, no somersault, daims the inventor,
But the greatest advantage claim- ed for the invention is that it eliminates the discomfort caused by roads which are in a state that my be described as "very holey."- A road may be a veritable wartime no-man's land, yet the occupants of even the cheapest type of car, it it is fitted with the new apparatus, will have no knowledge of the fact. They will continue to glide along unshaker,
