HEAVY ORDERS FROM GERMANY.
ENGLISH CLÓTIS SWEEP THE BOARD.

"They would not look at the samphis.of French material, which we are obliged to stock for a certain class of client, and refused to con- sider any of the models based on or copied from French styles,"
The same firm recorded another sensational triumph for British goods by successfully challenging a 'world-wide advertised American bathing costume which swept all before it, because it really fitted. The firm decided that the clastic knit fabric could be produced in England, and forthwith ordered it
from the mills.
English Triumph. This season the English bathing suit, carrying the English trade mark and the firm's guarantee, sold in hundreds of thousanda in every part of the world-in Europe. South Africa, the Dutch Indies, India, South America, and, despite the 60 per cent. duty, in the United States itself, from New England to Florida, and from New York to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
More than 200 new accounts were opened in Germany alone for this bathing suit, the agencies for which were obtained with the aid of the Department of Overseas Trade in London.
