Observers declared that today's refusals to review indicated that the recent popular discussion of prohibition, together with the elec tion or nomination of many "wet" candidates for public office, has not weakened the attitude of the Supreme Court which has always construed the law liberally in fav our of a policy of strict enforce-Mr. B. Generally speaking, it is unusual for the Supreme Court to move in a direction siteilar to the trend, of públic opinion to go slow in shapiping its courses, and of course there is no obligation whatever for the justice to take any attitude other than that dictated by their experience in and knowledge of the law, interpreted by their own individual views and consciences.
