INDIAN RECREATION CLUB'S NARROW WIN OVER RECREIO.
FINE FIELDING AND BOWLING ON BOTH SIDES.
"TELEGRAPH DECEIVES THE ARMY ELEVEN: MATCH WITH CLUB LEFT DRAWN.
Chief interest in cricket over the wook-end was centred on the Indians-Recreio, match in the second division of the leagué at Sookunpeo, and those who turned out to watch this game were not disappointed as it provided plenty thrills and excitement. Fortune's pendulum swung first to one side and then to the other and the finish proved extremely exciting, the Recreio wanting aome twenty runs to win with three men to bat. Some good bowling on the part of the home team, backed up by an excellent field, gavo them victory by 14 runa. The Indians will have to bo seriously reckoned with in the fight for championship honours.
Oneo again the wickets' favoured the batsmen but several fine bowling feats were recorded, the most noteworthy being Sour- butta' nine wickets for 25 runs for the Craigengower Cricket Club against the Royal Army Service Corps.
SOURBUTTS' FINE BOWLING FEAT.
DIVISION II.
INDIANS' NARROW WIN OVER RECREIO.
Fine Bowling Performance, The meeting of the Indian Re- creation Club juuiors and Club de Recreio at Bookunpoo provided plenty of thrills for the spectators. The Indians started promisingly but fell off and then recovered some- what, eventually being all out for the comparatively poor total of 100
runs.
Recreio started disastrously, losing two wickets for one run. Then A. P. Guterres batted well and things began to brighten up. However, another rot set in when he gat out and it was felt to their captain, Carvalho, to put a stop to what threatened to be completo collapse. When he was out, the rest of the Recreio men found the bowling rather difficult with the result that they were all out for 95'ris, giving the Indians a narrow win by 14 runa.
Madar (24) and Ackber (20) batted well for the Indians while Arculli (0 for 17) was their most Buccessful bowler, For Reorcio, A. P. Guterres bowled excellently for his 3 for in addition to being top-scorer with 24 runs,
