REFEREES ALREADY

COMPLAINING.

The following circular has been soft to all clubs in momborship of tho Shanghai Football Associa tion :-

Among the complaints received from referoes of League matches. which were played on October. 11 and 12 wore several on the follow- ing lines:--

(a) No linesmen provided.

(b) Teams arriving late and the start of the match delayed thereby.

(c) Teams not turning out in their relatered colours, and in some casce with a multifarious abort ment of shita.

(d) Playors coming on

to the field after the game had started and failing to report to the referee.

(e) DiBoulty in obtaining lista of players from the captains of the competing teams, and the gen erally unsatisfactory condition of auch lists when they wore supplied. (f) Arguing with the referee after he had given a decision,

(R) Dangerous play. With regard to:

(a) Clubs are reminded that an effioient linesman must be supplied by each teamA,

(b) Reforces are being instruct

the ed to commence a match at specified hour, regardless of how few players may be presont. All future cases of a game being de |layed owing to the late arrival of players will be dealt with by the Excoutivo Committee."

(e) All future complaints under this heading will be dealt with by the Exocitive Committee.

When a Chinese was charged with unnecessary and avoidable cruelty yesterday, the remains of a tiny bird were brought into Court. It was stated that the man plucked the feathers off the bird while it was still alive. A constable caught the man in the set and took him to

the Police Station. When they got there, the remains of the bird word still warm.
