THE AIRSHIP CAR.”

R100'S DESIGNER'S LATEST MODEL.

A remarkable motor-car, the crea tion of Sir Dennis Buracy, designer of the airship R.100, is about to be placed on the market. In appear anto it is rather like a miniature It.100.

Sir Dennis has applied the lessons Icarned in the building of the air ship, especially those relating to wind resistance, to the construction of the car, with the result that, se he claims, the car saves petrol con sumption by 50 per cent. and saves 60 per cent. of the horse-power re- quired to propel an ordinary car on a level road; at high speeds it sacrcely touches the ground, with a consequent saving in tyro wear.

Up In the Air I

If a speed of 180 miles per hour could be reached the car would actually rise in the air owing to its stream-lining.

The pointed front of the car noses its way through air resistance and sends streams of air acurrying over the top of the airshipliko body.
