LAWN BOWLS INTERPORT.

SHANGHAI WIN BY TWO POINTS.

HONG KONG'S BAD LUCK.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

SHANGHAI, Sept. 9. In the third and deciding game Shanghai beat Hong Kong by 18

shots to: 18.

41

Owing to rain the game was play ed on the Racecourse green, which was dry.

Shanghai played consistently, while the Hong Kong bowlers were erratic. However, near the finish, Hong Kong made a good rally in which Luz was brilliant, hut dark- ness made bowling difficult.

In the last boad Luz "was wrong- Fy informed that Hong Kong had the shot, and put his woods behind, when Shanghai really lay and won.

Opinions differ as to the chances of Parenthesis and Diolite in the St. Leger, which is due to be run at Doncaster to-day. One school of thought feels that Diolite will make amends for his defeat in the Derby, while there are those who consider that Parenthesis bas a distinct advantage in this race in that he has shown up very well of late, and further that his sire and dam were both stayers.

Below is given some extracts from Home papers in which it can be seen that the St: Lager, in spite of the shortening down of the odds on both Parenthesis and Diolite, is a very open race. His stable com- Blenheim, the Derby witner, is definitely out.
