SIE-I wonder if there are two words more difficult of succinct. de finition than "Christian" and

science "7

A Fundamentalist is a Christian; he accepts the Bible as 100 per cent, truth. The Modernist who regards the Old Testament as main- ly legend and wholly uninspired, and who rejects the miracles in the New Testament also claims to be a Christian. How, then, can we arrive at a clear definition of this strangely-used word?

Then what of science Astronomy is a science-is astrology Geology is a science-is graphology! And if not, why not?

Coxswain Tells His Story.

To So Tai, the accused, said that he had been in the employ of the ferry company since April, 1929. He first worked on the s.. Tai Hing, but last November he was transferred to the Sun Tai which was then on the Hong Kong. Tai-O run. On July 15, bis vessel was put on the Hong Kong Cheung Chau rua to take the place of the Sun Chow which had docked for repairs. Thirteen days later, the Sun Tai resumed her old service. That was on July 29.

He was quite acquainted with the usual course for launches running between Hong Kong and Cheung Chau and he remembered quite well that on July 24 he left Cheung Chau, at 3 a.m. and got here at 4.05 a.m. There were a few passengers en board but be did not know the exact number. Nothing untoward happened during the voyage. When aeked whether the passengers were asleep or otherwise, witness replied that he did not know as they were all in the bold.
