So many girls who have to take to glasses immediately, think that their good looks are spoilt. It nced not be so.

The woman whose features are broad should have her lenses round, or nearly so. The possessor of a narrow face should never wear this shape, since they make it appear narrower than it is. A broadening effect is produced by glasses which are decidedly aval

Resorts are swarming with gaily dressed women, and it seems that 1030 has brought the loveliest sum- mer fashions ever. Many of the dresses feature the lingerie details, flattering flares and pleats that have re-established woman's femininity. They are quite the newest things for every conceivable sumper oc casion. Put one on bright and early in the morning, and you can still look fresh at the end of the day, And for the dance, there's nothing more wispy and demure than 3 pastel print with fluttering cape and flared skirt. Here are a few delightful models that the fashion worl has bowed to. Dresses for town wear, and wispy fröcke that can be worn for formal afternoon occasions and semi-formal evenings, with equal assurance of charming appropriateness.

Dolly Vardon's new consignment- of Autumn felt hats and sports suits have just been unpacked. I only had a chance to see a few of them and those were really beauti ful. The sports suits in three and four pieces are all tailor-made; some have half-length coats, others full length, and the skirts are flared or pleated in the latest style. I hope to be able to give fuller de- tails next week.

This is absolutely le dernier eri from Paris and is being intro- The duced by Maison Marnic. pyjama, dress looks just like any of the latest modes, but instead of a skirt there is a pair of long trousers flaring out very full at the bottom.

THE GARIBALDI COAT.

SMART DRESS EFFECTS WITH SCARVES.

A skirt of same dark colour, and over it a bright or light coat, which fastens close and has a belt, is one of the latest Paris fashious.

Under the coat-the Garibaldi coat-may be attached to a sleeve- less, bodice.

For these many colours are: chosen. A blue skirt with a white and red blouse has a bright red coat of fne cloth or tussore, which has no collar, but which tolds over in front to the throne and is kept in place by a narrow belt of blue leather at the waist and a button at the neck,

The same idea is carried out in a white tusscre dress with a tussore coat in green, held to the figure with a narrow black leather belt which has a buckle of green and black enamel..

In both cases, & beret to match either the coat or thu frock is worn. It may also combine both colours.

The Polonaise.

This old-fashioned garment has re-appeared as a blouse.

A black coat and skirt, the coat being three-quarters length, may have a light-colcured polonaise or blouse, reaching to within a quar- ter of an inch of the coat's hem. But it must not show when the coat is worn.

The collar should close to the throat and be tied with narrow pink strings. Many a
